Spiritual Detoxification
I’m sure you are wondering, what is spiritual detoxification? Spiritual detoxification is the process of ridding your body from all of the toxins or sins that are hindering you from establishing a meaningful relationship with God, as well as entering into the kingdom of God.
Let us first point out some of these toxins, a.k.a. sins: unforgiveness, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, and revellings.
The only way to rid your spiritual body of all of these impurities is to submit yourself under the authority of God’s Holy Spirit and allow His Holy Spirit to lead you in the paths of righteousness through Christ. If we cannot forgive others, then our Heavenly Father cannot forgive us. You must rid your heart of all of the bitterness and hatred that you have been carrying around for however long. You begin by asking God to forgive you of your sins, as you forgive those who have sinned against you. Ask Him to create in you a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within you.
You are renouncing Satan and his evil ways because you have confessed Christ and you are now walking in the Spirit because you are being led by God’s Holy Spirit. Therefore, because you are now a child of God, you should show some signs of His character. In other words, you should give birth to the fruit of His Spirit, which is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance.
One easy way to give birth to all of the fruit of the Spirit at once is to practice walking in love daily. 1Corinthians 13: 4-7 gives us the formula in which to obtain this: Love suffers long, and is kind (not only is love longsuffering but it is also pleasant while it’s enduring); love envies not (does not want what someone else has); love vaunts not itself (does not boast or brag about its own achievements or possessions), is not puffed up (does not scorn others while exalting itself as superior to all). Love does not behave itself unseemly (does not conduct itself in an improper or an inappropriate manner), seeks not her own (is not selfish; it is cooperative; it is willing to share), is not easily provoked (is not stirred to anger or other emotions without a legitimate cause), thinks no evil (does not allow thoughts that could bring about harmful, painful, or unpleasant events to enter its mind); Rejoices not in iniquity (does not find pleasure in sin, or when an injustice or an act of immorality is done, or law-breaking), but rejoices in the truth (finds pleasure in honesty, loyalty, accuracy, conformity-adherence to a standard or law); Bears (covers with silence) all things, believes ( is confident that somebody or something is worthwhile or effective) all things, hopes (expects something to happen or be possible) all things, endures (tarries behind; tolerates or accepts somebody or something that is extremely disagreeable). Love never fails (it always wins; is always efficient; it always remains on course). In other words, love is always effective.
As you walk in love, the desire to practice sin will diminish. Since we now know that love never fails, we invite you to take the challenge and try Love. We promise you that you won’t regret it, because God’s word cannot return unto Him void. That’s our written guarantee from God to choose Love. Love will help you to shed the weights of sin, because sin causes a heaviness in our hearts, because we are carrying around the burdens of guilt and shame.
Try It, You’ll “LOVE” It!
Until Next Time,
God Be With You
